Concretions is a work for organ and live signal processing and (optional) video with live processing of effects, and performed using two Max patches which run simultaneously (on 2 separate computers). The audio mix from the live signal processing and organ sound is fed to the second patch controlling video, which then both drives and interacts with the operations occurring in that patch. The patch allows video input either from a camera in the performance space, or a fixed video file. The work can be seen and heard on YouTube Concretions
Both patches were created and prepared by Andrew Blackburn. If you are interested in performing this work, I am happy to share the (handwritten) score and the fixed video (for live performance processing). Please email me via the contact page.
The (Max) audio patch requires that the sound of the organ is input live as the work is being played, and the subsequent processing effects occurs in realtime. The different process settings are loaded by presets activated either by a technologist assistant (recommended) or the organist.

Below are text versions of the patches which can be opened appropriate software (such as Max) and installed on computers. If performing the work, this needs to be done connected to an audio system installed around the organ. Settings within the audio setup need to be customised for the performance space and organ. Your settings should then be saved within the presets for recall during the performance.
